HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

All bookings are by scheduled appointments only. Please contact us by phoning  01-6111444  or emailing  info@thebodywiseclinic.ie

WHAT IF I AM LATE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

If you are late for your appointment, it is possible that you may lose time from your treatment and be charged the full amount. Our busy therapists have an obligation to start the next scheduled appointment on time. Should you need to cancel/change an appointment, 24hours notice is required, otherwise a cancellation fee of 50% of your treatment will incur. We appreciate your understanding. The Bodywise Clinic will send you a text the evening before your appointment, confirming the time of your appointment the following day. Please do not solely rely on our text messages as a way to recall when your next your appointment is.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE AT THE CLINIC FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?

We recommend all new patients aim to arrive at the clinic 10-15 minutes ahead of their scheduled appointment time. This will allow you to familiarise yourself with the location of our clinic on Suffolk Street in Dublin 2 and give you some time to relax before your treatment commences and to enjoy one of our delicious tasty Herbal Teas while you fill out your Consultation Form in the comfort of our warm and relaxing reception area.

WHY DO I NEED TO FILL OUT A CONSULTATION FORM?

All new patients will be required to fill out and sign a Consultation Form before their first treatment starts. We suggest you arrived 10-15 minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment time to fill out your Consultation Form. One of our friendly receptionists will ask you to take a seat in our comfortable waiting area and offer you a refreshing drink while you take the time to fill out your details on your form.  The information you disclose is kept strictly confidential. Once completed, your therapist will go over the information on your Consultation Form with you in one of our private treatment rooms and may ask you questions about your medical history. This is to ensure your treatment is tailored to specifically suit you and to also ensure you do not have any medical contraindications which would prevent the therapist being unable to treat your ailment(s). Please note: This one-to-one Consultation Time with your therapist is mandatory and most of the time should take no more than a few minutes. It is also included in the length of your treatment time.

CAN I CLAIM BACK FROM MY HEALTH INSURANCE FOR MASSAGE/PHYSIOTHERAPY/REFLEXOLOGY APPOINTMENTS?

Massage Therapy/Physiotherapy/Reflexology is recognised by most major Irish Health Insurance companies. Should you wish to claim back treatments with your chosen Health Insurance provider, we advise you to contact them prior to making your booking with us to ensure the treatment you are booked in for is in fact covered on your current Health Insurance Plan.  All health insurance receipts provided by The Bodywise Clinic will always display the name of the client, the name(s) of the therapist(s), the treatment(s) that were administered, the date(s) of each treatment and the total amount paid. Please be advised that any attempt to falsify/change receipts submitted to Insurance Companies or the Revenue is considered a serious and punishable offence which could lead to a heavy fine/ jail time or both.  Insurance companies and the Revenue are in constant contact with the above Therapist with regards to ensuring receipts submitted to them are correct.

HOW DOES A MASSAGE, PHYSIOTHERAPY, OR REFLEXOLOGY SESSION FEEL?

At the beginning of each treatment your therapist will use a light pressure. This will help calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension. As your body becomes more relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased on specific areas to relieve muscular tension. To ensure that you are completely satisfied with your treatment, please inform the therapist DURING the treatment if you are in any way dissatisfied with the level of massage pressure (too firm/too light); the temperature of the room; your general comfort levels, as complaints of this nature cannot be rectified afterwards.Do not hesitate to ask questions or mention if you feel any discomfort so that your therapist can use another approach or technique.

HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER THE MASSAGE, PHYSIOTHERAPY OR REFLEXOLOGY TREATMENT?

Most people feel relieved of pain. Some experience immediate freedom from long-term aches and pains. After this initial period of feeling deeply relaxed, a majority of people experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity. This can last for several days. Since toxins are released from your soft tissues during your treatment, it is recommended that you drink plenty of water afterwards. Some may feel that their muscles are slightly tender after a treatment.  This is perfectly normal.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

Our top priority is to have you feeling pain free in the quickest amount of time possible. However, please be advised that we cannot and will not guarantee you will feel better after a specific amount of treatments. It all depends on a number of variables including the severity of your injury and how quickly your body responds to treatments.  Several of our clients experience immediate relief from long term pain after only one or two sessions, while for others it can take a number of treatments to get back to optimal health.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET A MASSAGE, PHYSIOTHERAPY OR REFLEXOLOGY TREATMENT?

This depends on your goals and your budget. For maintenance, many people will have a massage, physiotherapy or reflexology appointment once a month. However, it is not uncommon for people to request treatments fortnightly, weekly or more. What is important is that you recognise and prioritise a regime of self-care for yourself. The health benefits that you will receive from massage, physiotherapy and reflexology are cumulative if availed of regularly.

MUST I UNDRESS FOR MY TREATMENT/WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY APPOINTMENT?

You will be required to disrobe for a massage or physiotherapy session.  For hygiene reasons undergarments are to be left on at all times during all treatments-no exceptions! (Ladies, you will be required to remove your bra for back massages). People often ask what clothing should they wear for their appointment.  For all massage and physiotherapy treatments, you will be disrobing down to your undergarments and as a result, it's not important what clothing you wear when you arrive at the clinic. Once you are undressed and on the plinth, you will be modestly covered with a large clean towel. Your therapist will only uncover the part of your body being worked on. If you are scheduled for reflexology, with the exception of your shoes and socks, disrobing will not be necessary.

WHAT AREAS ARE WORKED ON?

A full body massage will include your back, legs, arms, hands, neck, shoulder, face and scalp. During a physiotherapy session, only the problematic area(s) will be treated. During reflexology, your feet will be the only part of your body that will be worked on.

HOW ACCESSIBLE IS YOUR BUILDING?

Please be advised that The Bodywise Clinic is located on the 2nd Floor.  Unfortunately, there is no lift on the premises at present. Should you require assistance walking up/down the stairs, please notify us and one of us will be more than happy to assist you.
