Pre-event massage – Up to an hour before sporting events such as the marathon , using brisk, invigorating techniques to stimulate the body and focus the mind.

Post-event massage – performed after your marathon, triathlon, or tough sporting event, using slow rhythmic strokes to disperse lactic acid from overworked muscles and to assist in the healing process preventing microtrauma. Currently, Laya, VHI and HSF Health Insurance companies do NOT cover Massage Therapy. The only Health Insurance Company in Ireland that accepts receipts for Massage Therapy is Irish Life, and this will vary based on their different plans. If your Health Insurance Plan is with Irish Life, please familiarise yourself with the specific plan you have to ensure that Massage Therapy is covered. Furthermore, it is helpful to note if you are claiming back your Massage Therapy treatments for tax purposes, your Massage Therapist(s) does NOT need to be a member of the IMTA (Irish Massage Therapists Association) and therefore a general receipt will suffice. Please allow up to 7 days for your Irish Life Health Insurance Receipts to be emailed to you.
